Mindset
Having a growth mindset (the belief that you are in control of your own ability, and can learn and improve) is the key to success. Yes, hard work, effort, and persistence are all important, but not as important as having that underlying belief that you are in control of your own destiny. Teaching a growth mindset within the classroom will foster confidence, in your students, that anything can be learned with the right amount of practice.
“In a growth mindset, challenges are exciting rather than threatening. So Rather than thinking, Oh, I’m going to reveal my weaknesses, you say, wow, here’s a chance to grow.”
